Clinical Interests

Dr. Ton has a particular interest in cross-cultural psychiatry and working with underserved patient communities, especially Southeast Asian refugees. He believes in the importance of utilizing psychodynamic principles when caring for patients in medication management and support. Dr. Ton has developed a patient database called PsychNotes, which allows for rapid entry of clinical, demographic and insurance information. He is exploring issues faced by ethnic minorities in the mental health system and applying his experience in qualitative research methodology.
