Philosophy of Care

Providing mental health treatment across development from childhood through adulthood is a passion of mine. I take a family-centered, collaborative approach to treatment, and I strive to engage other members of the care team such as primary care doctors and therapists.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Hopkins is a child and adolescent psychiatrist in the UC Davis Child Behavioral Health Clinic where she provides direct care and supervises residents and fellows. She also works in the UC Davis Health Primary Care Clinic Integrated Behavioral Health Program as an embedded psychiatric consultant, and she is the lead for the pediatric collaborative care program. Additionally, she is a co-preceptor in the Pediatrics Residency Continuity Clinics and trains pediatric residents about pediatric mental health care. Her clinical interests include integrated and collaborative care, mental health care for medically complex patients, adolescent mental health, student mental health, reproductive psychiatry, parent-child mental health, and psychotherapy.

Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Hopkins’ scholarly focus is on programmatic development in pediatric behavioral health integration and inter-specialty collaboration between pediatric and child and adolescent psychiatry. This includes the development of a pediatric collaborative care program in the UC Davis Health Primary Care Clinics as well as building a Buddy Program with the child and adolescent psychiatry fellows and pediatric residents.
