Dear Urology Residency Applicant,

Thank you for your interest in the urology residency training program at the University of California, Davis.

The UC Davis urology residency is a five-year program. Our residents spend time at three sites: UC Davis Health, the Veterans Affairs Northern California Health Care System, and local Kaiser Permanente hospitals. On their pediatric urology rotations, they are also present at Shriners Children's Northern California. Our residents complete six months of General Surgery in the first year followed by more comprehensive education and surgical training in all areas of pediatric and adult urology in their PGY2-5 years.

The UC Davis Health program offers specialty training in urologic oncology, neurourology and reconstruction, endourology/laparoscopy, pediatrics, robotic surgery, impotence and infertility. Dedicated time is provided during the fourth year to pursue opportunities in both clinical and basic science research, medical education, quality improvement/patient safety, advocacy and health policy, rural medicine/international urology, or data science/artificial intelligence (AI). We take pride in providing a comprehensive education in urology in a collegial working environment. Faculty are engaged in resident mentorship and we are continuously improving our surgical education through curriculum development and simulation.

Urology faculty review completed application packets and qualified applicants are then invited to an interview. Our program participates in the American Urological Association Residency Matching Program using the ERAS system (ID#00923287).

If you have additional questions after reviewing this material, please contact our residency coordinator, Mireya Sanchez, at 916-734-2893 or msanchez2@health.ucdavis.edu.
