Educational Overview
Urology Residency Program
The UC Davis Health Department of Urologic Surgery offers a five-year urologic surgery residency training program. The program emphasizes comprehensive clinical training and opportunities for both clinical and basic science research at the UC Davis Health, VA Northern California Health Care System, and Kaiser Permanente hospitals. Please see a letter from the program director of the urologic surgery residency program for more details.
Grand Rounds
Every Tuesday morning, faculty, residents and community physicians, gather at UC Davis Health for Urology Grand Rounds. A broad range of topics are discussed at each meeting. This forum is an opportunity to hear about the latest treatments and innovative research in urology. Accreditation for 1.5 hrs of Category 1 CME is available.
Research
Aligned with UC Davis Health's mission to improve lives and transform health care, the Department of Urologic Surgery is actively engaged in both bench research and clinical trials.
Conferences
The department provides ample opportunities to attend educational conferences throughout the academic year, including mortality and morbidity, grand rounds, journal clubs and other UC Davis Health urology conferences.
Medical Students
The UC Davis School of Medicine offers a four-year, comprehensive curriculum leading to a medical degree. The first two years focus on the basic and preclinical sciences and the second two years on clinical experience. We offer one urology course to medical students within the medical school curriculum.
