  • Conflict of Commitment:

    Outside Professional Activities, and Conflicts of Interest in Research

    In preparation for Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Outside Professional Activities Annual Reporting, the Office of Academic Personnel and Office of Research are presenting an in-depth overview on policy and reporting requirements. This training is an in-depth overview of the Conflict of Commitment and Outside Professional Activities policies for faculty in the Health Sciences Comp Plan. The training will also be covering Conflict of Interest in research, regulatory and reporting requirements.

    Faculty who attend this training will have a comprehensive understanding of the following:

    • Academic Personnel Manual 671 and 025
    • Threshold limits for time and income
    • Management of reporting obligations
    • Reporting requirements for research

  • Fidelity Financial Planning Series

    This four-part Financial Planning Series, is led by a Fidelity Retirement Planner, and is offered twice annually.

    Part 1: Make the most of your UC Retirement Program

    Determine how much savings you will need to retire the way you want, understand how much you can save through the UC Retirement Savings Program, discover additional ways to save, and learn strategies to help you protect and grow your savings.

    Part 2: Ways to Save Roth

    This class discusses how Roth gives you the opportunity for tax-free income in retirement, who might benefit from Roth contributions, and how to start making Roth contributions.

    Part 3: Understanding the Basics of Social Security

    Understanding the Basics of Social Security class is designed to help you understand and learn about key Social Security claiming ages and how your benefit is calculated, so you can better understand the choices.

    Part 4: Fundamentals of Retirement Income Planning

    Introduction to key concepts, considerations, and resources for determining when you are ready to retire.

  • Outside Activity Tracking System (OATS) Training


    The UC Outside Activity Tracking System (OATS) is a web-based application through which all University of California faculty must report outside activities and income, in accordance with UC conflict of commitment policies. This virtual training is a hands-on overview of the OATS system.

    After completing this training participants will be able to:

    Complete the Annual Outside Professional Activities reporting in OATS
    Submit requests for Category 1 approval
    Track time and income limits
    Manage outside activities and income in OATS
    Easily check the status of reports and requests in OATS

    This training provides a comprehensive overview of the Faculty Compensation Plan for UC Davis Health. This training will cover who is eligible to participate and specifics on how faculty are compensated including APUs, scales and the different salary components.
