SOAP Center of Excellence Award

On behalf of the Sociey for Obstetric Anesthesia and Perinatology (SOAP), UC Davis has been awarded the SOAP Center of Excellence designation for Anesthesia Care in Obstetric Patients.

The goal of the SOAP Centers of Excellence is to recognize institutions and programs that demonstrate excellent obstetric anesthesia care. This unique SOAP initiative aims to acknowledge and promote excellence in the provision of safe and effective obstetric anesthesia care. Designation is based on current clinical practice or proposed changes as presented.

Applications were subject to a rigorous and transparent review process. Three reviewers drawn from the SOAP COE committee and the SOAP Board of Directors independently evaluated each application. These reviewers were subsequently discussed by the full SOAP COE committee and final decisions made based on the consensus of the SOAP COE committee.

UC Davis will be presented with a plaque in commemoration of receiving the SOAP Center of Excellence designation. We were also recently awarded designation as a Best Maternity Hospital for 2020 from Newsweek, as well as receiving the Baby Friendly designation in 2020.
