Inclusion Diversity Anti-Racism and Equity (IDARE)
The Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine is deeply committed to embracing diversity. In 2021, the Anesthesiology Inclusion, Diversity, Anti-Racism, and Equity Committee (IDARE) was established. Initially comprising a handful of dedicated residents and faculty members with a shared vision, IDARE has since grown to encompass faculty, fellows, residents, and interns from across the department. IDARE's primary objective is to shape a Department that recognizes and nurtures the essential skills required to promote diversity, offer mentorship, generate scholarly opportunities, and equip UC Davis' anesthesiologists to effectively address the healthcare needs of a multifaceted population. This proactive initiative underscores the Department's unwavering dedication to fostering an inclusive environment, ensuring that all voices are heard and valued in the pursuit of excellence in anesthesiology and pain medicine.
