Our faculty development programs, essential offerings and initiatives
Interprofessional Teaching Scholars Program
A two-year program for faculty that focuses on enhancing teaching skills, tools and knowledge, and promoting interprofessional collaboration and leadership.
Leadership Development Programs
Our programs provide opportunities for faculty to develop and enhance their leadership skills, gain insights from accomplished leaders and engage with others in a supportive environment.
This program focuses on disseminating mentoring best practices for faculty in the health sciences. It includes workshops on the mentoring relationship and how to foster an environment that values and supports mentoring.
Women in Medicine and Health Sciences
This program focuses on the recruitment and retention of women in medicine and health sciences and aims to increase the opportunities for mentoring, leadership and peer collaboration.
Throughout the year, the Faculty Development and Diversity team hosts several workshops designed to provide our faculty workforce with the tools for success and career advancement at UC Davis Health.
Diversity and Inclusion
Through Diversity DRIVE, we aim to discover the narratives of our diverse faculty workforce and determine best practices to guide us in developing and refining resources for them.

Faculty Development and Diversity is a department administered through the Office of Academic Personnel.
We serve the professional and career development needs of faculty at all levels of the academician lifecycle — new recruit, early career, mid-career, senior and emeritus.
Through our programs, we aim to address the diverse needs of our faculty community with offerings in career advancement, mentoring, leadership development, diversity and inclusion, and interprofessional teaching.
