My artwork allows for me to put my feelings on to a page. The process of creating a composition is cathartic. In this particular work, the hands on the left represent how I felt on harder days in my training. The hand extending from the upper right represents the support I received from family and friends who were unwavering even when I was too exhausted to give them much in return. By the time I finish creating my art, I feel a weight has lifted and better understand the feelings that inspired my creation. Having art as an outlet has been an essential part of my journey in medicine, but also an essential part of developing resilience in life.
