Now that Principles of Community Week (February 12-16, 2024) has come to a close, we are filled with gratitude, inspiration, and a renewed commitment to continue to live the Principles of Community. We are inspired at our communities showcasing our resolve to Kindness, Trust, and Inclusion. Over the course of the celebratory week, we connected together as a community, taking part in over 30 unique events and activities, each designed to honor the core values that define us: Respect, Equity, Learning, and Community.
The Principles of Community are now offered in the following languages:
Arabic, Chinese – Simplified, Chinese – Traditional, English,
Farsi, Hmong, Pashto, Punjabi, Russian, Spanish, Tagalog, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese
Thank you to all who supported this annual event and engaged in the week’s activities, especially to our Employee Resource Groups!
As we reflect on the week, it's clear that the Principles of Community are more than just words; they are a call to action. This annual renewal has shown us the power of coming together, with a common purpose of respect and inclusion, and the incredible potential that lies within our community to effect positive change. It has been a reminder that each of us has an invaluable role to play in creating a more equitable, inclusive, and respectful environment, not only within UC Davis Health but in every community we interact with.
We have seen firsthand the impact of listening with empathy, engaging with openness, and challenging ourselves to learn and grow. These are the lessons we carry forward as we continue our work, inspired by the energy, passion, and commitment of our community.
As we look to the future, we invite you to stay connected with us. Together, we will continue to build bridges to create a UC Davis Health community that truly embodies respect, equity, and inclusion for all.
On behalf of the Office for Health Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion at UC Davis Health, thank you for being an integral part of this inspiring journey.
