Social media participation guidelines

Friends and followers of UC Davis Health’s social media channels are permitted to share, post, comment, like, flag, tag, rate, upload videos and images, and converse with other fans and with content posted within UC Davis Health's social media channels.

UC Davis Health is committed to the free and open exchange of ideas. We respect your First Amendment rights and embrace the core values of free speech. Social media administrators reserve the right to block or remove the content of any post that violates UC Davis policies.

Comments posted on UC Davis Health’s social media websites reflect the opinions of the individuals posting them and not necessarily those of UC Davis Health or the policies of the university and health system. If you have a concern about any posted content, or about any content that has been removed by a site administrator, please e-mail hs-publicaffairs@ucdavis.edu.

Participant guidelines

Social media administrators review comments and posts on channels regularly to ensure any issues or concerns are addressed in a timely manner.

Please respect others who comment on our sites. Please avoid comments that are not in keeping with UC Davis Principles of Community, specifically comments that personally attack others or are inappropriate, inflammatory, offensive, profane, obscene or sexually explicit. Comments of this nature will be deleted.

Due to legal protections for patient and personal privacy, administrators will not respond to posts that address individual health concerns. If you are a UC Davis Health patient with a concern, please contact our Patient Relations Department at 800-305-6540. If you need our help finding a doctor, visit us online or call 800-2-UC-DAVIS.

Posts that contain names of specific individuals within UC Davis Health as part of a complaint, concern or compliment will be handled on a case-by-case basis. Depending on the circumstances, at the discretion of social media administrators, the post or comment may be removed to protect the privacy of individuals.

Patient information shared by a third party cannot be discussed by site administrators. We cannot take action on behalf of a patient without the patient’s consent. Please have the patient contact our Patient Relations Department at 800-305-6540.
