Cystic fibrosis diagnosis leads one family to move closer to UC Davis Children’s Hospital

Two weeks after Sandra Morales’ cystic fibrosis diagnosis, the Moraleses packed up their family and moved to California so Sandra would be able to receive treatment from Sanjay Jhawar, a pediatric pulmonologist at UC Davis Children’s Hospital.

We have invested significantly in our Cystic Fibrosis Foundation-accredited Cystic Fibrosis Care Center, enhancing our diagnostic technology and increasing efforts around social services and dietary support.

High-efficiency air filtration studied in Fresno and Riverside

new study focused on households with asthmatic children found that the use of high-efficiency filtration, either as part of a central air system or standalone air cleaner, improves indoor air quality. Conducted in collaboration with the California Air Resources Board, the study also found that while participants did not report reduced asthma symptoms, they did have fewer visits to doctor’s offices and hospitals for asthma care.
