Dr. Nelson is committed to providing evidence-based medical and surgical eye care in order to improve the quality of life and general health of his patients. He believes in clear communication and shared decision-making based on available evidence.
Dr. Nelson provides comprehensive eye care for common eye conditions such as cataract and glaucoma. His clinical interests include complex cataract surgery, traumatic eye injuries, and ophthalmic pathology.
Dr. Nelson is involved in resident and medical student education in ophthalmology and eye pathology. His research interests include the epidemiology of traumatic eye injuries, animal models of eye disease, and quality improvement.
