David Copenhaver, M.D., M.P.H. is the Chief of Pain Medicine at UC Davis Health. He is an anesthesiologist and pain medicine specialist with unique expertise in diagnosing and managing complex pain management problems of various types. He has expertise in cancer pain management, craniofacial pain and complex regional pain syndrome. His practice utilizes numerous techniques, including but not limited to, the implantation of neuromodulatory devices and direct delivery of medications to the central nervous system via intrathecal delivery platforms.

Nathan Neufeld, D.O., is director of the Pain and Palliative Care Program at City of Hope® Cancer Center Atlanta, where he also serves as medical director of Pain Services and Supportive Therapies and an interventional pain management specialist. Inspired to pursue a career in pain management by his mother’s battle with breast cancer, Nathan helps patients manage pain related to their disease or its treatments and maintain their quality of life throughout their cancer journeys.

Nathan Paul Fairman, M.D., M.P.H. is a psychiatrist and palliative medicine physician. Fishman, M.D. is a professor in the UC Davis Health Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine, director of the UC Davis Center for Advancing Pain Relief, and executive director and endowed chair of the UC Davis Office of Wellness Education. An internationally recognized expert in pain management, he has held numerous national leadership roles, including past president of the American Academy of Pain Medicine and past chair or board member of leading pain organizations. Fishman is a strong advocate for the safe use of pain medications, lectures widely, has testified before state legislatures and the U.S. Congress, consults for federal agencies, and frequently serves as a media expert on pain-related issues.
