Philosophy of Care

My philosophy has always been to individualize the care for each patient. As the physician William Osler wrote, "The good physician treats the disease; the great physician treats the patient who has the disease." I strive to be a great physician: to listen, to educate, and to foster patient-physician relationships built on trust and mutual understanding. I encourage my patients to ask questions, and to share the aspects of their care that are uniquely important to them.
