Philosophy of Care

Ear, nose, and throat issues are common in childhood and can have a profound affect on a child’s quality of life. I strive tohelp identify and address issues regarding hearing, speech, sleep, breathing, and swallowing to promote healthy growth and development.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Funamura is a fellowship-trained pediatric otolaryngologist (ear, nose, and throat surgeon) who cares for children with conditions affecting breathing, swallowing, hearing, and speech. Her clinical practice includes collaborating withother specialists to provide multidisciplinary care for children with conditions affecting the ears, nose/sinuses, mouth/throat, neck, and upper airway. 

Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Funamura’s academic interests include outcomes research in children with hearing loss, facial trauma, and tracheostomy-dependence, and early hearing loss identification and treatment.
