Details are not yet available for the October 2025 event.

The annual Clinical Quality Improvement Design Workshop is designed for clinicians, residents, fellows, and health care staff who wish to learn how to develop and implement a Quality Improvement (QI) project or initiative. Online access to required pre-workshop readings is provided in advance.

Before the workshop, participants should identify a health care quality or patient safety issue that they want to improve. During the workshop, participants will actively apply the methods and tools taught and design an actionable and feasible QI project.

Objectives:

  • List key concepts, methods, and tools in clinical quality improvement
  • Describe how process improvement and human-centered design methods are applied in healthcare
  • Describe the adverse effects of health inequities on healthcare quality in diverse populations
  • Identify strategies to address unintended biases and health inequities through quality improvement
  • Design a clinical quality improvement project to address a healthcare quality issue
