About the PACES program
What is PACES?
Our Pediatric Acute Care Education Sessions (PACES) program is a complimentary peer-to-peer online continuing medical education course supporting clinicians who care for pediatric patients at community hospitals. The program gives clinicians the opportunity to increase their specialized knowledge in pediatric clinical guidelines.

How does it work?
Sessions are scheduled quarterly and typically take place on a Thursday from noon to 1 p.m.
Community clinicians can join this complimentary online program using a teleconferencing platform on their phone or personal computer. Participants receive education and practice-based learning by discussing real cases from their own practices. Each session includes a 30-minute presentation on a pediatric clinical guideline and 30 minutes dedicated to interactive case discussions.
How do clinicians benefit?
The PACES model provides longitudinal learning from a leading institution in education, research and pediatric care. Participants receive up-to-date, evidence-based training and knowledge exchange with a multidisciplinary team from UC Davis Children’s Hospital.
What will I learn?
Session topics include, but are not limited to, asthma, head trauma, bronchiolitis, diabetic ketoacidosis, sepsis and BRUE/ALTE. Each session focuses on caring for pediatric patients exhibiting these conditions.
