The Longevity Medicine Package is a comprehensive health and performance assessment designed to help you optimize longevity, maintain physical function, and reduce the risk of age-related decline. By combining advanced diagnostic tools with expert guidance, this package provides a data-driven approach to sustaining an active and healthy lifestyle at every stage of life.

This package offers a comprehensive evaluation of key longevity markers, including:

  • Coronary Artery Calcium Score + CT Lung Screen – Assesses coronary artery calcium levels to evaluate heart disease risk.
  • Targeted Bloodwork – Provides insights into metabolic health, inflammation, and key longevity biomarkers. (lipid panel, HbA1c, fasting Insulin, comprehensive metabolic panel, hsCRP, Vit D, ApoB)
  • DXA Body Composition – Measures fat mass, lean muscle mass, and bone density to track body composition changes over time.
  • VO2max Testing – Evaluates cardiovascular fitness, a key predictor of long-term health and mortality risk.
  • Functional Movement & Strength Screening – Identifies mobility restrictions, muscular imbalances, and strength deficits that may impact long-term health.
  • Dietary Analysis – Assesses current eating habits and nutrient intake to optimize health and performance.
  • Sports Medicine/Lifestyle Medicine Physician Consultation – A one-on-one consult with a physician to review results and develop a personalized action plan.
  • Lifestyle, Physical Activity & Dietary Recommendations – Tailored strategies for improving movement, nutrition, and daily habits to support lifelong health.

  • Improve heart health and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.

  • Optimize metabolism and prevent metabolic disorders such as diabetes.
  • Enhance aerobic capacity (VO2max), a powerful predictor of long-term health and function.
  • Reduce injury risk and improve movement efficiency.
  • Personalize diet and exercise strategies to support lifelong health.

Preparation depends on the specific tests included, specific pre-test instructions will be provided. General guidelines include:

  • For bloodwork: Fast (no food or drinks except water) for 8-12 hours before testing.
  • For Coronary Artery Calcium Score + CT Lung Screen: No special preparation is required but avoid caffeine before the scan.
  • For DXA Scan: Wear light clothing without metal and avoid large meals beforehand.
  • For VO2max and Functional Movement Testing: Wear athletic clothing and bring running shoes. Avoid strenuous exercise 1-2 days before and on the day of testing.
  • For Dietary Analysis: Keep a detailed food log for 3 days before your appointment.

Due to multidisciplinary nature of this package, testing and consultation take place at 3 separate locations.

The Coronary Artery Calcium Score + CT Lung Screen (CAC score) will be performed at a UC Davis Health radiology location, and the scan will take approximately 20 minutes.

Bloodwork can be collected at any UC Davis Health or Quest laboratory location, and the blood draw should take approximately 15 minutes.

The rest of the assessments (DXA, VO2, movement and strength screen) will take place in one combined visit that should last around 2.5 hours.

The consultation visit to review results and recommendations with the physician and exercise specialist will be 60 minutes, as will the Dietician consult.  This part of the visit may be able to be scheduled on the same day as the DXA/VO2/movement screening assessments.
