Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Anderson's research focuses on tumor cells communicate with the cells that surround them in the tumor bed using extracellular vesicles called exosomes. He investigates how cancer cells commandeer the stromal and immune cells that surround them in the tumor bed to make the environment more supportive of tumor progression. This work is expected to lead to the development of novel drug targets to interfere with the tumors ability to use extracellular vesicles to progress.
