Philosophy of Care

Dr. Bakhtiari's philosophy of care prioritizes patient safety, individualized treatment, effective communication, pain management and continuity of care while embracing advancements in the field of anesthesiology. By adhering to these principles Dr. Bakhtari aims to provide the best possible anesthesia experience while ensuring patient comfort, well-being and successful outcomes. In obstetrics anesthesia, pain relief while minimizing risks to the mother and the developing fetus are his major goals. Dr. Bakhtari carefully assesses each individual's medical history, current health status and unique needs to determine the most appropriate anesthesia approach. He is committed to ensuring that women have the option of receiving safe and effective pain relief for childbirth.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Bakhtari is an associate professor of anesthesia at UC Davis Health with a special interest in high-risk obstetrics anesthesia. He is the wellness chair for the Department of Anesthesiology at UC Davis Health and serves on the wellness and wellbeing committees at UC Davis and the California Society of Anesthesiologists. He is also a member of the peer support program to provide physicians with confidential, independent, and collegial support and resources for the inevitable clinical and professional challenges they will face during their careers. Dr. Bakhtari additionally educates residents and medical students about different aspects of anesthesiology.
