Understanding drug metabolism (DM), pharmacokinetics (PK), and pharmacodynamics (PD) is essential for the development of new drugs, which requires accurate, precise, and reliable quantification of drugs/metabolites in complex biological matrix. The PK/PD Bioanalytical Core Facility at UC Davis School of Medicine is equipped with a state-of-the-art HPLC-MS/MS system and set up to provide bioanalytical services in support of the clinical and preclinical drug development programs.

Dr. Aiming Yu, Director, has extensive experience in the study of DM/PK/PD and bioanalysis. His research interests include DM/PK/PD, noncoding RNA pharmacoepigenetics, and cancer pharmacology & therapy.

Dr. Chao Zhang received his Ph.D. in Pharmacology in 2011. Dr. Zhang has more than 14 years’ experience in operating LC-MS/MS systems, and he specializes in developing new bioanalytical assays and conducing DM/PK studies. In addition, Dr. Zhang is experienced in metabolomics and lipidomics research.
