Ingredients
Crumble Topping:
- 3/4 cup whole oats
- 1/4 cup whole wheat pastry flour*
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup maple syrup or agave syrup
- 2 tbsp. canola or grapeseed oil
*Brown rice flour may be used instead.
Filling:
- 6 medium apples, peeled, cored and chopped
- 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 2 tbsp. whole wheat pastry flour*
- 2 tbsp. maple syrup or agave syrup
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly spray 8 inch square pan with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a medium bowl, mix together oats, flour and cinnamon for the topping. Add syrup and oil. Mix well.
- In a large bowl, add apples, cinnamon and flour for the filling. Mix to coat apples. Add syrup and toss well.
- Place apples in prepared pan, top with crumble mixture and place in the oven.
- Bake 40-45 minutes or until crumble is lightly browned.
