Crumble Topping:

  • 3/4 cup whole oats
  • 1/4 cup whole wheat pastry flour*
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup or agave syrup
  • 2 tbsp. canola or grapeseed oil

    *Brown rice flour may be used instead.


    • 6 medium apples, peeled, cored and chopped
    • 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
    • 2 tbsp. whole wheat pastry flour*
    • 2 tbsp. maple syrup or agave syrup


    1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly spray 8 inch square pan with nonstick cooking spray.
    2. In a medium bowl, mix together oats, flour and cinnamon for the topping. Add syrup and oil. Mix well.
    3. In a large bowl, add apples, cinnamon and flour for the filling. Mix to coat apples. Add syrup and toss well.
    4. Place apples in prepared pan, top with crumble mixture and place in the oven.
    5. Bake 40-45 minutes or until crumble is lightly browned.
