Jalapeño cilantro hummus

Gather up some fresh ingredients for an easy-to-make and healthy after-work snack. UC Davis Health Executive Chef Santana Diaz puts his twist on traditional hummus by adding the flair of jalapeños. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups canned garbanzo beans
  • 1/4 cup chopped jalapeños
  • 1 bunch cilantro
  • 1/2 cup tahini
  • 6 garlic cloves
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 cups extra virgin olive oil

Preparation

  1. Puree all of the ingredients in a food processor and blend until relatively smooth.
  2. Add water slowly to adjust consistency if it's too thick.
