Ingredients
1lb of yams
Water (enough to cover yams in a pot)
Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
- Peel yams and dice into 1” cubes
- Add yams into boil and add in enough water to cover the yams
- Heat up pot to a soft boil and cook for about 15 minutes. Yams should be done if you’re able to poke with a fork and yams don’t stick to it.
- Once yams are done, use a strainer and strain the yams from the water
- Transfer yams into mixing bowl. Use a whisk and/or potato masher to break down.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste
