Dr. Senders believes that the care of each patient requires a dialogue between the patient, family and physician. This allows the customization of care to match each patient's individual needs.
Dr. Senders is an expert in pediatric otolaryngology; cleft lip and cleft palate, endoscopic sinus surgery, and surgery for sleep apnea. Dr. Senders is the Director of the University of California, Davis Cleft and Craniofacial Program.
Presently, 99% of Dr. Craig Senders' practice is pediatrics. This ranges from the treatment of otitis media with effusion to airway disorders requiring complex reconstructive surgeries. Many of these pediatric patients have congenital anomalies of the head and neck, mostly consisting of cleft lip and cleft palate, and abnormal head shapes.
Dr. Senders' research is focused on the development and treatment of facial birth defects such as, cleft lip, cleft palate and craniosynostosis. The development and treatment of subglottic stenosis (narrowing of the airway at the voice box).
