Philosophy of Care

I believe that every person has intrinsic value and deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. In the intensive care unit, I believe that this requires us as providers to listen carefully, communicate with transparency, and prioritize the unique needs of each child. 

Clinical Interests

Dr. Chaffin cares for critically ill and injured children in the pediatric intensive care unit. He has special clinical interest in children with medical complexity. 

Research/Academic Interests

Dr Chaffin's main academic interest is in medical education, with a focus on residents and medical students. He also has interest in quality improvement initiatives for medically complex children.
