As the CTSC Health Informatics Research Data Officer, I work with researchers and collaborate across UC Davis and UC Davis Health departments to help accelerate research with health equity data resources. My position focuses on serving researchers by using effective methods for making health-equity data resources findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable - also known as FAIR. I offer consultations on topics related to the research data lifecycle and act as a “data- Sherpa” to aid researchers in finding health-equity data resources. I use strategies and best practices for data fluency competencies to help educate researchers.

My interest in research and data ethics has led her to the field of research informatics. I started working in healthcare privacy after undergraduate work and went from a privacy analyst to the Chief Privacy Administrator of a national healthcare provider. I obtained my Master of Science in Health Informatics from UC Davis Health and my Bachelor's degree in Business with an emphasis in Information Science from California State University, Sacramento. I have 15 years of experience in healthcare privacy and information security. In 2019 I was hired as an associate librarian at Blaisdell Medical Library to help researchers with data management, data access and data curation. The role at the CTSC is a natural progression and an exciting way to contribute to the UC Davis Health, the CTSC and the HERO program mission.

Outside of work I enjoy knitting and all things gardening and plants.
