About Us | Injury and Violence Prevention Program | UC Davis Health

About Us

The Injury and Violence Prevention Program was established in 1996, under the UC Davis Level 1 trauma center, to proactively face the public health challenge of trauma-related death and injury.

Working closely with faculty and staff in the health system, our program maintains a commitment to reducing preventable deaths and injuries through education, research, and community outreach. Long-standing partnerships with state agencies, law enforcement agencies, and allied health organizations have enabled us to reach out to families, schools, community centers, medical professionals, and beyond.
