The Injury and Violence Prevention Program at UC Davis Health is dedicated to preventing and reducing injuries through education and the strength of community partnerships. The fund supports educating communities on bicycle helmet safety, bleeding control, traffic safety, and more.
Safe Kids projects focus on car seat and road safety, home safety, and safety at play. Coalition activities include but are not limited to raising public awareness on safety problems, advocating for safety policies, training local service providers, providing education for children and families, and distributing lifesaving devices to families in need.
The Wraparound Violence Intervention Specialists (VIS) provide intensive case management to help adolescent and young adult patients injured by violence or trauma. Our teams provide treatment for mental and emotional healing, while also helping our patients find hope and purpose. Your gift to this fund will be used to assist with housing, transportation, food, and essential daily living expenses.
The fund supports the education, training, and services associated with the child safety seat program for trauma prevention at UC Davis Medical Center and in the greater Sacramento community. This will include purchasing regular and special needs car seats, printed materials, training equipment and supplies, and supporting staff travel and education for child passenger safety.
