Stop the Bleed teaches you how to control major bleeding and boost survival chances before emergency responders arrive.
A person who bleeds from a significant injury can die from blood loss within five minutes.
Stop the Bleed® is a national education campaign that teaches bystanders how to control severe bleeding from injuries. We offer training for schools, churches, nonprofit organizations, and other groups.
This in-person 90-minute class, led by UC Davis Health trauma nurse practitioners, nurses, and physicians, provides education and training on basic bleeding control.
The class size is determined by instructor availability, with a maximum of 10 students per instructor. Students will learn and practice using pressure, packing, or a tourniquet to control severe bleeding quickly. Participants will receive a certificate upon completing the training.
