Interim Executive Director, UC Davis Medical Group
Dr. Aizenberg provides oversight of physician practice operations and assists in developing the UC Davis Medical Group’s overall vision and strategic direction. She works closely with the UC Davis Medical Group Board and UC Davis Health leadership to enhance clinical operations and ensure the most effective care delivery network through a collaborative approach to planning, marketing, and delivery of coordinated and patient-centric clinical services.
In addition to Dr. Aizenberg’s role as Interim Executive Director, she is the Associate Chief Medical Officer for Ambulatory Care at UC Davis Health. Dr. Aizenberg is committed to developing patient-centered care systems and enhancing clinical efficiencies, focusing on health system growth, significant strategic partnerships, and innovative solutions to meet patient and health system needs. Dr. Aizenberg has been recognized with institutional awards for excellence in service and compassion, and has been repeatedly named to best doctors lists regionally and nationally. As a clinical professor in the Department of Otolaryngology, she provides direct patient care with a focus area of pediatric otolaryngology, and participates in research and scholarship in the field of practice management and gender diversity.
Dr. Aizenberg completed the McGill University Med-P program, accelerating her completion of medical school at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. She then did her general surgery internship and otolaryngology head and neck surgery residency training at UC Davis Health.
Director of Operations, UC Davis Medical Group
Johnson oversees the work of the Board of the UC Davis Medical Group, provides financial management, interfaces with external organizations, and supervises staff hiring, evaluation, and professional development. Prior to his work at UC Davis, Johnson served for nine years at Santa Clara County Health and Hospital System, leading strategic transformation efforts. He began at Santa Clara County in Finance Administration, and he directed Ambulatory Care efforts and teams that spanned the Primary care Paneling Department, The Referrals and Authorizations Center, Specialty Operations, and Primary Care Operations Improvement.
Johnson holds a Master’s in Healthcare Management and Policy from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI, and he holds two bachelor’s degrees in English and Business Administration from Augustana College- Rock Island, IL. Jake is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), and he holds certification by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) in Root Cause Analysis. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA). Jake is also an NCQA Certified Content Expert (CCE) in Patient Centered Medical Home Implementation.
Financial Analyst and Decision Support
Harry Randhawa has been working with UC Davis Health for more than two years as an analyst in the Decision Support Services team in finance. His work is almost exclusively dedicated to supporting the Medical Group’s initiatives, including cross-functional analysis into financial, ambulatory, and School of Medicine trends. Additionally, Randhawa examines and reports on physician productivity and compensation, based on benchmark analysis against industry standards. He has a bachelor’s in Finance from The Ohio State University and an M.B.A. from Cleveland State University. His previous work experience took him to University Hospitals, Ernst & Young, Medical Mutual of Ohio, and the Cleveland Clinic.
Administrative Officer
Suzanne Ziemer joined UC Davis Health in 2014 with the Practice Management Board where she supported the Executive Director for six year. Ms. Ziemer also supported the transformation away from the Practice Management Board to our current governance structure with the inception of the UC Davis Medical Group in 2020. Ms. Ziemer brings fifteen years prior experience in City Government, working multiple positions. For five years, Ms. Ziemer served as Deputy City Clerk for the City of Eureka and the Executive Assistant to the Mayor, City Council, and City Manager. She is currently serving the Medical Group as an Administrative Officer II, assisting the Medical Group’s Executive Director and supporting the UCDMG, generally, in administrative functions, including support and coordination for the UCDMG Board, the Executive Committee, and the Finance Committee.
Administrative Officer
Rozana Abuhamdi serves the UC Davis Medical Group as an Administrative Officer, and she has been part of UC Davis since 2017, serving in critical support roles across UC Davis Health. Central to her work with the Medical Group is supporting and coordinating the work of the Medical Group’s Operations and Planning Committees to further the organization’s mission and vision. Ms. Abuhamdi received her Masters degree in Public Administration (MPA) from California State Hayward and brings a wealth of experience to her work with UC Davis Medical Group.
