Clinical history:

The patient is a 40-year-old Asian female status post right ovarian cystectomy and left salpingo-oophorectomy for seromucinous cystadenoma of the right ovary and mixed endometrioid and mucinous tumor of low malignant potential of the left ovary. She subsequently underwent right salpingo-oophorectomy for a solid right ovarian mass and an elevated CA-125 discovered one year later. Microscopic examination demonstrated grade 1 endometrioid and mucinous adenocarcinoma. Endometrial curettage performed at the time of surgery showed adenocarcinoma. She again returned to the operating room for total abdominal hysterectomy..

 

Gross description:

The 99 gram hysterectomy specimen was notable for a 2.1 x 1.8 x 1.5 cm yellow polypoid mass within the anterior endocervical canal.
