Our faculty are exploring stem cell properties and potential therapies to address a wide variety of diseases as members and collaborators in the Institute for Pediatric Regenerative Medicine at the Shriner's Hospital for Children and the The UC Davis Institute for Regenerative Cures. Both institutes have disease oriented teams to integrate basic science and clinical medicine. These teams include focus areas in neurodegenerative disease, vascular disease, burns, blood disorders, prevention of cancer relapse, and immune disorders, and others.
