Nurse on the phoneThe clinicians and researchers in the Department of Radiation Oncology at UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center work closely to find ways to turn scientific and technological discoveries into better care for cancer patients. The Department of Radiation Oncology is focused on bringing the best care to our patients, we depend on philanthropy to support cancer research and treatment programs.

We invite you to join our mission to provide state-of-the art cancer therapies, educate future cancer clinicians and scientists, and find cures for cancer. If you would like to learn more about how your gift can make a difference, please contact 916-734-9433.

Endowments

An endowment is created by a donor from a gift containing a legal stipulation that the original gift may never be expended. These gifts are held and invested in perpetuity by UC Davis Health and the UC Davis Foundation for the purpose of generating a permanent expendable income stream from the return on the gift for the purpose the donor desires. Endowed gifts may be for restricted or unrestricted purposes and are particularly important to UC Davis due to their permanency. These gifts permit planning for programs into the far future.

Gifts

Gifts accounts have been created to support different types of needs in the department. These gifts can assist with research, patient assistance, or to fund the department’s objectives.

  • Radiation Oncology Support
Provide funds to further radiation oncology objectives.
  • Patient Assistance
Provide cancer patients-in-need with clothing, lodging, and food.
  • Research Fund
Provide salary support for our clinical research coordinator and provide faculty opportunities to conduct clinical trials or further research studies with departmental support.

Capital Improvement Projects

To maintain our reputation as a patient-centered care facility, and to support research and education programs, the Department of Radiation Oncology has naming opportunities available. Your support will help maintain state of the art clinics and laboratory spaces. Opportunities are available throughout the Department of Radiation Oncology.

Pledges

Donors make pledges by promising a gift and making payments over time. This method of giving may enable you to give more generously than what might be possible through a single contribution. These payments can be made in the form of cash, securities, credit card payments or other types of assets. You can pay the pledged gift over a period of up to five years, in annual, semiannual or quarterly installments, with payments beginning at your convenience. For more information about how to make a pledge, contact 916-734-9433.

Planned Giving

Planned gifts are a great way to support the Department of Radiation Oncology and leave a lasting legacy. Planned gifts allow you to make a larger philanthropic impact than you may have thought possible. These strategies may enhance your personal and financial well-being and make an impact on future generations.

There are many different ways to make a planned gift, including:

  • Charitable gift annuities
  • Charitable remainder trusts
  • Charitable lead trusts
  • Bequests
  • Gifts of real estate

  • Increased cash flow from an asset, sometimes at more favorable tax rates
  • Preservation of an asset’s appreciation in value coupled with the elimination, reduction, or deferral of capital gains tax
