2024 Gifts From The Heart
Each year, during the holiday season, UC Davis Health Staff Assembly coordinates the UC Davis Health sponsorship with the County of Sacramento to provide holiday gifts for over 200 foster children, young adults aging out of the foster care system, disabled adults and senior citizens in need. UC Davis Health employees are invited to select names of children, teens, young adults, and seniors, along with their holiday wish lists, and then shop for gifts early in the holiday season. Staff Assembly volunteers collect the gifts and make sure each one is received by the County early in December.
We hope you will consider joining Staff Assembly in this year’s effort. It’s as easy as requesting a name or names, shopping for the items for the individual(s) and dropping them off at the North Addition or HAS Building!
Year after year, we continue to hear what a difference these gifts make in the lives of the recipients. For some, these are the only gifts they receive during the holidays. We are so proud of our UC Davis Health colleagues and the difference we can make in the lives of these members of our community when we come together for amazing opportunities like this.
To request name(s) to sponsor, or for questions about the program, please contact @Clare McCarthy or @Audrey Lybrand as they will provide you with your requested number of names. Participants who reach out to participate will receive complete instructions related to packaging, drop off, etc.

- Wednesday, December 4th, 2024, 7am – 4:45pm
- Thursday, December 5th, 2024, 3pm – 5pm
- Monday, December 9th, 2024, 7am – 5pm
HAS Building, Room 2001 Valley Oak Conference Room. (2nd floor lobby across from the elevators)
- Thursday, November 21st, 2024, 9am – 11am
- Tuesday, November 26th, 2024, 11am – 1pm
- Monday, December 2nd, 2024, 11:30am - 1:30pm
Instructions for Gift Donation
1- Sign Up for Smartsheet
- Click the link to access the Smartsheet signup. Sign up for Gifts from the Heart 2024 here
2- Sign In
- Use your UC Davis email address to sign in and select “Send me a Code"
- Do not request access for Smartsheet license
3- Select Recipient List
- Choose “Gifts from the Heart 2024”
4- Complete Required Information
- Fill out all necessary information as prompted.
- Please do not override someone’s name if already assigned to sponsor a recipient.
5- Purchase Gifts
- All gifts must be new. Please remove price tags.
- Ensure you purchase the entire list of gifts for each recipient you or your team sponsors.
- You may purchase additional items beyond what's listed, but do not purchase only a partial list.
- Please consider including helmet and locks for bicycles, skateboards, roller blades and skates.
- Kindly exclude any religious material and/or personal contact information.
6- Prepare Gifts
- Place gifts in a gift bag with tissue paper (do not wrap gifts).
- Include card with the gift recipient's name and a checklist of their wish list.
7- Deliver Gifts
- Bring the gifts to the designated drop-off location during the allotted times.
