Brian Haus, M.D., is a pediatric orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist with UC Davis Childrens Hospital. Dr. Haus is a 4th generation Sacramentan, and is dedicated to providing world-class care to young patients in his community.
After graduating from Stanford, Dr. Haus completed training at the Harvard Orthopaedic Residency Program. This was followed by two year-long fellowships at Boston Children’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School; one in Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery and another in Pediatric and Adolescent Sports Medicine. Currently, he is the only Board Certified Pediatric Orthopedist in Northern California who is also double-Board Certified in Sports Medicine. As such, he has expertise in managing the most complex sports injuries affecting the young athlete.
He has extensive experience in treating sports injuries and traumatic fractures of the hip/shoulder/knee/ankle in adolescents and children using open and arthroscopic techniques. He performs a high-volume of cartilage restoration procedures including osteochondral allograft transplantation (OATS) and Autologous Chondrocyte Implantation (MACI) for traumatic injuries, osteochondritis dissecans (OCD), and avascular necrosis (AVN).
He is also a high-volume hip preservation surgeon and has performed over 1,500 hip preservation procedures in his career. He treats young patients with complex hip disorders, including hip arthroscopy/labral repair/reconstruction, periacetabular osteotomy (PAO), and open surgical dislocation.
Dr. Haus is Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the UC Davis School of Medicine. He served as Chief of Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery from 2015-2022. He is accepting new patients. In addition seeing patients at UC Davis, he also treats patients at Sutter Alhambra Surgery Center and Shriners Hospital for Chilldren.
