Philosophy of Care

My treatment philosophy is rooted in evidence-based practices, including conducting full assessments to determine each client's needs and using targeted evidence-based treatments that have been shown in research to be effective. I also include parents or caregivers in their child's treatment as much as possible to promote positive change across settings and to support positive parent-child relationships.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Hawk is a child psychologist who specializes in parent-child relationships, childhood trauma, and pediatric chronic pain. Although she primarily works as a trainer and researcher of Parent-Child Care(PC-CARE) and Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), she offers care for patients through the Pediatric Pain Consultants.

Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Hawk's research focuses on understanding and improving the effectiveness of dyadic interventions, particularly PC-CARE and PCIT, in the treatment of trauma and disruptive behavior disorders. She also has interest in implementation research.
