The Support U Peer Responder is a safe and confidential program that provides peer-to-peer support for caregivers experiencing trauma or stress from an adverse care experience.
The peer responders are trained to be thoughtful and compassionate listeners.
The peer responders are volunteers from all disciplines in the UC Davis Health and are trained to provide one-on-one confidential, emotional support as well as providing connections to resources and other support networks as needed.
The Peer Responder may email or call the individual in need of support to arrange a private time to meet in person or speak on the phone.
The UC Davis Health Support U Peer Responder Program is an effort to provide timely and confidential peer-based support to health care providers who are second victims or have encountered stressful, patient-related events.
We believe in a relationship-based culture and therapeutic practices of attuning, wondering, following and holding.
For questions about training, events, or resources please contact us at hs-supportu@ucdavis.edu.
