Internship and Volunteer Opportunities

We offer a wide range of opportunities for students and trainees interested in learning about our research or center.

  • Scientist Trainee Studying Biomarkers

    UC Davis Medical Students With Research Experience

    For UC Davis medical students who have research experience and would like to work on an existing project or with a mentor (faculty member), please visit our team to review our faculty member's research areas. We will request that you reach out to them individually to determine their availability.

  • Med students collaborating

    UC Davis Medical or Undergraduate Students Without Research Experience

    For UC Davis medical students or UC Davis undergraduates with little research experience, we offer a shadowing program that runs annually June through August.

    • 8-week program
    • 3 students per year 
    • Shadow our research staff, medical professionals, and attend research meetings
    • Experience the basics of research (consenting, conducting study visits, data management, and coordination), physical and neurological examinations, and shadowing procedures as available such as blood draws, MRI, ECG, and lumbar punctures
    • Preference will be given to those who aim to enter the Alzheimer's and dementia field.

  • Undergrad Students collaborating

    UC Davis Undergraduate Students, Minimum 1 Quarter Commitment

    For UC Davis undergraduate students interested in volunteering with us for a quarter or longer.

    We have various research projects that need assistance with:

    • Data entry
    • Data clean up
    • Prescreening of participants
    • Assisting with administrative tasks including scanning and filing our data to be archived
  • Gerontology

    California State University, Sacramento Gerontology Students

    For California State University, Sacramento Gerontology Students interested in an externship, we will ask specific questions regarding your goals, expectations, and timelines to ensure we can meet the needs of your program. We will have a meeting with you once we receive your application.
