Dr. Conti is a fellowship trained obstetric anesthesiologist and board-certified general adult anesthesiologist. His obstetric anesthesiology practice involves care and pain relief of laboring mothers, and he collaborates with the whole multidisciplinary team of the birth center including obstetricians, maternal fetal medicine specialists, and labor and delivery nurses to pursue maximally safe and comfortable deliveries of their children. He has a special interest in the care of patients with placenta accreta spectrum pathology and anesthesia for fetal surgery. In his general anesthesiology practice, he cares for the broad spectrum of adult patients undergoing surgery at UC Davis, with a special interest in anesthesia for liver transplantation.
Dr. Conti's research interests include prevention of intra-operative pain during cesarean delivery, treatment of postpartum hemorrhage, and use of transthoracic echocardiography in the peripartum period. His primary educational focus is preparation and mentoring of UC Davis anesthesiology residents for their future practice of obstetric anesthesiology. Additionally, his is one of the point of care ultrasound faculty for the residency.
