Our physicians, who are pediatric infectious disease specialists in Sacramento, are often asked to lend their expertise to patients in other medical systems throughout the region.
Dean Blumberg, M.D., is the chief of pediatric infectious diseases and leads a team of physicians who partner with parents and children when an infectious disease is suspected or occurs to ensure that appropriate diagnoses and treatment ensues.
His main areas of interest are preventing and treating childhood infections. As part of this effort, he co-hosts the popular podcast, Kids Considered™, which aims to educate the community and parents on child health issues and current outbreaks. He is also involved in clinical vaccine research and childhood immunization policies, and is head of Infection Control at Shriners Children’s Northern California.
