Orthopaedic Surgery - Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery
With my expertise and interest in exercise physiology, muscle function and physical fitness I encourage patients to participate in their own healing with exercise, muscle retraining and therapy when needed. I frequently advise non-operative treatment before recommending surgery. I try to incorporate my patients' needs as well as their parents' goals in developing a treatment plan. I strive for excellence in surgery, using safe and proven techniques that I know will improve patients' function.
Dr. Boakes' interests include treatment of hip dysplasia in children and adolescents, slipped capital femoral epiphysis, congenital and acquired limb deformity, leg length discrepancy, congenital disorders of the foot (including clubfoot), and fracture care. Currently, Dr. Boakes is only teaching and mentoring physicians and students in non-clinical setting.
