Philosophy of Care

To provide every neonate, infant and child with evidence-based, nurturing family centered care, enabling them to thrive and develop to their fullest potential. To invest in research that improves our understanding of human biology and leads to new discoveries that result in better outcomes for patients. To mentor the next generation of health care providers and researchers to achieve these goals.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Lakshminrusimha is a pediatric neonatologist interested in neonatal resuscitation, persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn, early detection of critical congenital heart disease and neonatal respiratory diseases using pulse oximetry and other indices of oxygenation.

Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Lakshminrusimha is a neonatologist focusing his research on understanding the pathophysiology of neonatal transition and evaluating the science behind neonatal resuscitation to develop new techniques to improve efficacy of resuscitation in resource-limited settings. His grants focus on optimal oxygenation in lung injury and pulmonary hypertension.
