Project Coordinator, Licensed Physicians from Mexico Pilot Program (LPMPP)

Selena Regalado is a project coordinator for the LPMPP evaluation project. She provides administrative and research assistance for the project. Before returning to the center to work on the LPMPP project, Selena joined the center in 2018 as a student worker and provided research assistance for the Solano Innovations Project.

Selena received her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development with a minor in Public Health from UC Davis in 2020. While at UC Davis, Selena completed summer research internships at UCLA and Harvard, where she acquired research experience in Latinx health disparities, nutrition policy, and statistical programming. She co-founded the first Indigenous pre-health student organization at UC Davis, Indigenous Health Alliance. Simultaneously, she also worked for and received mentorship at the Center for Reducing Health Disparities for over two years. More recently, she assisted various tribes in Southern California with youth-centered initiatives and was a research associate for the California Tribal Epidemiology Center. In May 2022, she received her master of health science from Johns Hopkins University Department of Mental Health. She concentrated most of her coursework in epidemiology and biostatistics. Alongside her mentor, she conducted a secondary data analysis of the 2019 Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System utilizing various statistical techniques for her master's thesis.

Selena is passionate about chronic illness advocacy, data decolonization, and health justice for all.
