Possible Influenza-like and Coronavirus (COVID-19) Symptoms Include:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

If you have symptoms:

  • Follow Return to Work Criteria for Staff with Respiratory Viral Infections
  • Regardless of whether diagnostic testing for viral pathogens is performed or the results of such testing, isolate from work for three days (Day 0 starts with onset of symptoms).
    • Staff can return to work: after at least 3 days have passed (from day 0), and at least 24 hours have passed with no fever (without the use of fever-reducing medications), and symptoms have improved. 
      • Note: Symptomatic staff without improving symptoms may not work and should contact their primary care provider for return to work clearance.
    • Staff must wear a well-fitted N95 in all areas, at all times, AND eat alone for at least 10 days (from day 0), as part of universal source control. Non-fit tested employees who choose to wear an N95 should complete the voluntary use form.
  • Fill out the Employee COVID Survey to request COVID-19 testing through OEHC

If you have tested positive for COVID-19:

  • Report your positive test to OEHC by completing the Employee COVID Survey or via phone call (916-734-3737) or email (hs-EHSexposure@ucdavis.edu
    • include your date of birth, date of positive test, and date of symptom onset in your positive reporting
  • Follow Return to Work Criteria for Staff with Respiratory Viral Infections; set by AFL 25-01
  • Isolate from work for three days (Day 0 starts with onset of symptoms or positive test if asymptomatic). 
    • Staff can return to work: after at least 3 days have passed (from day 0), and at least 24 hours have passed with no fever (without the use of fever-reducing medications), and symptoms have improved. 
      • Note: Symptomatic staff without improving symptoms may not work and should contact their primary care provider for return to work clearance.

IMPORTANT NOTE: COVID testing site for employees will be located behind the Cypress Building at 2221 Stockton Blvd. Employees will turn from V St. onto Nurse Way, pull into Lot 8 and drive forward into the testing pod, then exit from the Cypress Building’s front lot, Parking Lot 11, on to Colonial Way. Employee testing at this location will be open 8 am, with an appointment only.
