The Family Caregiving Institute was launched with caregivers in mind — a world-class group of clinicians, educators and researchers who strive to support the more than 40 million individuals who provide care to aging family members or friends in the U.S.
Do you help an older adult…
If yes, you are a caregiver. A caregiver is a person who helps an older relative, neighbor or friend who needs assistance with daily living or care concerns because of their physical or cognitive health challenges. Caregiving comes with its own unique set of rewards and challenges.
A one-on-one meeting with a clinician experienced in geriatric care and caregiving to discuss medical task guidance, stress relief and community resource agencies that can offer support.
The goal of the consultation is to offer the caregiver support, recommendations, and the necessary resources to help them maintain the care they provide while also focusing on their own needs and well-being.
Consultation is open to caregivers of UC Davis Health patients, even if the caregiver receives care from another provider; or UC Davis Health patients who are themselves caregivers.
