Upon submission of a completed application and plan submittal, the Fire Marshal’s Office will review for completeness within 2 business days. An email will be sent to inform the applicant of either acceptance or rejection for further information required. If accepted, a Plan Reviewer will make a determination of plan review time. Large and more complex submissions will require a review time commensurate within its scope and size. Smaller, less complex submissions will receive a review time of 15 business days. The review time will be stated in the acceptance email. Separate additional permits may be required, such as: Hot Work, ILSM and HazMat.
All new construction, remodels, modifications and repairs are regulated by California Code of Regulations, Title 24. They are all required to be permitted prior to commencement of work. Once plans are approved a permit/job card will be generated indicating required inspection(s).
