Construction permits and requests
A permit can be obtained by completing an online application. Choose the correct application. Event Permit Applications require a notice of 10 business days. Hot Works Applications need a notice of 3 business days. If this is an urgent permit request, please call the Fire Marshal's Office 916-734-1223.

Fire Plan Review Permit Application Process:
- Plan Reviews that need both the Fire Marshal and Building Department Stamps of Approval must be submitted through the eServices Portal on the Building Department's website.
- Leased Facilities Plan Review Submission Form - Be sure to select the Fire Prevention tab to start your submission.

Fire alarm testing request
Fire alarm testing request formThis request requires 4 business days' notice for processing. Coordination of testing with required departments or individuals is the responsibility of project contact individual. A copy of the completed request, once approved will be forwarded to Integrated Electronic Systems, Inc (IES) for reference with testing support.
