We are proud to offer high-quality, clinical nutrition care to patients within the UC Davis Health and the Sacramento Valley region. Our team of over 30 registered dietitians coordinates medical nutrition therapy for all hospital floors and intensive care units (ICU) within the UC Davis Medical Center, as well as specialty outpatient clinics, and UC Davis Medical Group primary care physician offices located throughout the region. Put together, UC Davis Health has more specialty registered dietitians than any other hospital in the region.
Though in a variety of locations, our team’s consistent goal is to support our patients with optimal nutrition during recovery and illness, and to provide nutrition counseling and education for disease management and prevention.
In addition to providing individualized nutrition services to patients, UC Davis Health’s registered dietitians offer nutrition education to members of the community by participation in a variety of outreach programs including health fairs, school career days, and serving as guest speakers for community groups.
UC Davis Health offers a fifty-week post-baccalaureate Dietetic Internship Program for those pursuing careers as registered dietitians. Upon satisfactory completion of the internship, graduates are eligible to sit for the Registration Examination for Dietitians administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
